The Launch of Guardians of the Galaxy
Guardians of the Galaxy #1 launches the team into Marvel NOW on March 27, 2013. The script was written by Brian Michael Bendis with interior art by Steve Mcniven. The Guardians of the Galaxy will protect the Earth because the balance of the galaxy rests on our planet’s future. A new generation of fans will be introduced to Star Lord, Gamora, Drax, Rocket Racoon, and Groot. Of course, Iron Man will be there to help them out. This launch will prepare comic book fans for the highly-anticipated opening day of the “Guardians of the Galaxy” movie on August 1, 2014 and will become a cornerstone in Marvel’s return to galactic storytelling.

Marcos Martin has had an impressive comic book career which spans 15 years. He is best known for his work on The Amazing Spider-Man and his cover artistry. He has been making major waves recently with his variant covers for AvX: Vs, Spider-Men, Morbius: The Living Vampire, and Nova.
