Batman-Superman Movie: My Thoughts

Simply put, the upcoming Batman-Superman movie is the biggest announcement up to this point at San Diego Comic-Con International. With the movie official going into production next year, this is going to be the movie we will be talking about for the next few years.

Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., The Walking Dead, and some other stories were supposed to be the biggest talk of the town. DC Comics came to bat (pardon the pun) and knocked it out of the park. How can other companies compete? Granted, many of us were hoping for a Justice League movie announcement, but we will definitely take the Batman-Superman movie as a second place prize.

Comeback?

How will Marvel, Image, IDW Publishing, and the other publishing companies come back from this? How will they save face? How will they make sure DC Comics does not pull off a major coup at San Diego Comic-Con International and be the belle of the ball with the Batman-Superman movie announcement? I don’t think the other companies have much of a chance of pulling an 11th hour lead this year.

Batman-Superman Movie is a Delivery

Fans have wanted a Batman-Superman movie for years. The recent comic crossover reminded fans about how cool it would be (as long as you like both characters) for the two characters to make a movie together. Now, it will apparently become a reality.

How This Hurts Me

The idea of the Batman-Superman movie hurts me. I never want to miss a Batman movie, but I still hate Superman. I have no choice. I will have to go. It also hurts to think about how I am going to report on criticism about whoever DC Comics lines up to play Batman next. You know it will happen. You know. Until then, let’s celebrate the idea of the Batman-Superman movie.
