Those of us who play Marvel Avengers Alliance on Facebook, and through other means, had some great announcements to find out about from San Diego Comic-Con International. While I was hoping there would be a definitive date for the release of Marvel Avengers Alliance Season 2, I am happy with many of the other announcements made. Here are my thoughts.
Chapter Prizes
One of the big changes announced about Marvel Avengers Alliance Season 2 is the fact that variant costumes will now be the ultimate prize in each chapter. Instead of getting a golden weapon, such as in the first season of the game, we will automatically win costumes, so we can save our command points up for a change. New costumes officially slotted so far are Iron Fist’s Heroic Age costume at the end of Marvel Avengers Alliance Season 2 Chapter 1 and Uncanny Cyclops at the end of Chapter 2.
Special Op 12
Even though we are still in the middle of Special Op 11, a little information was given about Special Op 12. It will be entitled Dark Reign and Ares will be the reward hero. I was a little worried that heroes would no longer be the ultimate reward in a Special Op mission, but that worry has been put to rest.
PvP Season 10
Soon, we are going to be able to create offensive and defensive teams for PvP. I am hoping this will be a part of PvP Season 10, but I have not received confirmation as of this writing. What this means to me is that we will be able to create two PvP teams. One for when we are playing, and one for when players are going against us. I am already coming up with some defensive ideas.
Bishop, who was officially announced this weekend, will be the character awarded to the top players in Marvel Avengers Alliance PvP Season 10.
New Playable Characters
Dr. Voodoo, Moon Knight, and Squirrel Girl will all be characters offered in the store very soon. I am excited by all three of these characters, but Squirrel Girl takes the damn cake.
Electra will be the next Lock Box character, so I am sure there is going to be some type of benefit going along with teaming her with Daredevil.
Baddies
The Circle of 8 will apparently be the main baddies of Marvel Avengers Alliance Season 2. We all know that secondary and lower characters are going to be introduced. Hopefully they will be as fun to play against as the main villains from Season 1. Also, Thanos will play a part in an upcoming Special Ops mission entitled “Infinity.” So much to look forward to.
